Westdale Lane Surgery Newsletter - Spring/Summer 2019
Our practice nurses undertake regular review of patients suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma. Your doctor can advise you on how often he/she wishes you to be reviewed. Alternatively, please speak to the Nurse for further information.
All doctors in the practice provide contraceptive services and advice during normal surgery hours. In addition there is also a nurse-run family planning clinic.
Full ante-natal and post-natal care is provided by the Practice, together with the Community Midwives and local hospitals.
The practice offers minor surgery when necessary for skin tags, warts and verrucae, etc. Warts and verrucae are treated in the “Wart clinic”; lesions requiring excision should first be seen by your doctor during normal surgery hours, following which arrangements can be made for surgery. Please note there is a limited availability of appointments for purely cosmetic lesions.
You are a carer if you provide unpaid support to a family member, neighbour or friend. They could need support because they are ill, frail, disabled or have a mental health or substance misuse problem.
This practice is working closely with Carers Federation to identify, inform and support our carers.
Your practice carer champion is: Mrs Paula Watts, Practice Manager
Your Carers Champion will be able to point carers to relevant information as to where they can get help whether that is information leaflets, someone to talk to, or access to services.
